Grand Furniture began humbly as a one-store operation on Church Street in downtown Norfolk. Founded by Rose Stein, and assisted by her two sons, Herbert and Jerry, Grand quickly gained the reputation as a store where the hard working members of the community could get both quality home furnishings and honest value. These two factors have been the cornerstone upon which Grand Discount Furniture has grown.

Now, with locations in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Hampton and Newport News, Grand has evolved into one of Virginia's major furniture retailing forces. Plus, Grand Furniture also operates two clearance center locations under the banner of Grand Furniture Outlet.

Today, Grand Furniture is guided by the wisdom of Steve and Craig Stein. Steve oversees the merchandising, warehouse and distribution aspects of Grand Furniture. Craig manages customer credit and the other financial aspects of Grand. The two brothers also are familiar characters in all of Grand Furniture's radio commercials.
